After traveling around the world, my bagpipe case was in sore need of replacement. I'd been hoping for a specific item to come available, but the developers had put it on hold and after waiting two years they still did not have the bagpipe case I was hoping to purchase. As I have recently joined a pipe band and have been traveling to practices, the need for a new case gained higher priority, thus I had to search for an alternative case, yet similar to what I'd been waiting for. Enter the Explorer Bagpipe Case. I truly like the backpack style which allows me to carry my pipes either in my car or on my motorcycle. It has organization zips and pockets sufficient for my needs, allowing me to keep my cleaning brushes, extra reeds, hemp, etc., all in the case. There is also a padded iPad pocket if you use one of those for a metronome. The pocket would be insufficient for a laptop, however. I can fit my pipes, a chanter humidity case (ToneTemple), music book, and practice chanter in a case inside the main pocket. If you're traveling air I think this backpack would be too large for carry-on and it would not provide enough impact protection to make checked baggage a good idea. Otherwise I am very pleased with this case and anticipate using it until it wears out.
